hiii i hope this finds you enjoying and maxing and relaxing!!! beyond memorial day, it’s the end of may and many grownups in my orbit with kids are spinning out with the end of the school year upon us…it does feel like every day is some kind of crazy sock day/early dismissal day/bring a stuffed animal that represents your inner child day (ok that last one i made that one up, but kinda not!!!). we love the children and want to send them out with a bang but it is a lot to keep track of and all my friends and all my clients in this group have been craving a lil TLC. my clients without kids have been too, many are planning trips and are wanting to feel exceptionally good for those trips and are working toward tying up loose ends with finals/work. so i’m writing this letter as a little pick me up….nice things that feel really good and make us feely shiny and help us wanna push forward. little rituals that make random days feel considered. stuff that makes putting in effort more fun! here they are :)
upgrade your house clothes: i had a client this past friday afternoon which meant it was 8p on the east coast where she lives (i know she will read this and ilysmmmmm!!). it was just after putting her two young daughters to sleep solo while her husb travels, she was wiped and we were discussing all the ways we were gonna lock tf in so she could feel her best for something very important to her in july. the food. the practices, and because we’re close enough to go there…i did genuinely ask if she would be up for wearing more flattering stuff at home. my client has nice stuff, but at home she wears things that she’d be mortified to be seen in outside and i actually do think it matters. and listen i have def walked past the mirror in my son’s bathroom and been like oh wow no so i’m right there with you, but i will say everything goes better when i step it up a tiny bit at home.
i know we are entering summer so a sweater is less relevant but hear me out regardless bc some people crank the ac…my friend natalie (Let's get dressed) is an amazing stylist and taught me something years ago that changed my life…once a sweater/cardigan has kind of lost it’s outside mojo due to wear and tear/pilling/whathaveyou, make it a house sweater to lounge in bc it makes you feel put together at home! i’d never feel comfy washing dishes and tussling with oliver in an outside sweater i’d have to dry clean, but with a house sweater i totally would do all those things, and then i feel kinda put together when i wash my dishes…which weirdly helps me exponentially!
I also did a little haul recently and it’s def given me a pep in my step home this shirt (which i also plan to get in black!) these pants! and this matching bra thing - the waffle is so cute
a nice lunchbox!!: omg so many people sent me their stunning spechy snack creations from the inspo, and wanted my box, this is it!!!!!
cuticle oil: i have been oiling down with this lately and it’s so nice as a little ritual before bed that doesn’t involve my phone. i took this pic of ol holding my hand this week bc it doesn’t happen every day 🥹♥️ and did notice my cuticles looking juicy
tea pouch: i do genuinely have an obsession with this tea bc it helps with after meal bloating but beyond that i just really like the taste and i also like the little ritual and signal to my brain that there’s a little transition happening. the tea pouch is real cutie and is giving hermes the lil one is perfect for a purse for day to day, but i got the big guy bc it’s something i want for longer travel this summer ;)
nice toothpicks: these are so nice!! and make my mouth feel fresh and are another lovely way to kinda transition after a meal in a ritualistic way
nice scrunchie: got this recently and it’s just so cute and makes me happy, also cute for a wrist sitch
