here’s what i’m covering in today’s letter in case you’re short on time :)

- tools for getting really clear and connected this thanksgiving
- a future self signaling exercise to amp alignment (amp kinda feels like an ai word but i liked the spirit of it here and it’s just me hiiii)
- my own experience with overeating and how i learned to pivot with grace
- a couple of my favorite recipes right now: a very easy chuck roast, pumpkin bread, and my favorite thanksgiving side of all timeee

mindset reset:

this is the thanksgiving one. and i just want to say thank you so much for being here. being in private practice for all these years (and also just a person who has worked hard to hold space for big feelings), has taught me that this week (at least for those of us in the states, we have internash readers too hiii) can be nuanced. yes, cozy and nostalgic and sweet and also at times deeply emo, challenging, and logistically taxing. thanksgiving always brings up a bit of teenage angst for me, but i’ve kind of made this holiday my superbowl and take a lot of pride in feeding my fam and cooking the whole menu and my g there’s so much to be grateful for.

unearthed these notes from my hs best fren (eliza ilysm) and sometimes i bust them out to connect to that version of us

my observation is that in gen, for people across the board, emotions tend to run a little higher during this week in both directions, up and down, and it makes sense. it’s the start of the holiday season and we want it to go really well. we wanna feel really good (not just in our clothes, but connected and rooted to the things that matter to us most), all while watching other people’s seemingly perfect lives play out on our little screens). my point is there are times when it’s extra easy to disassociate from our bodies, and i find that anything that feels deeply emotionally charged is one of them, so today’s letter is all about future self signaling this holiday season so you can get what you want, whatever that may be, and tools for how to do that.

i’m gonna start with telling you a story about a time when i over ate for a week after thanksgiving a couple years ago, and pivoted w grace (and tools for that too), and share my favorite staple recipes right now. also anyone else spatchcocking their turkey? i switched over a couple years ago and i’m never turning back!!

my bird last year!!

alright let’s get into it ♥️
