cazzie david said it best; tools for getting a lil more intuitive w landing on comfortable fullness after a meal
here’s what i’m covering in today’s letter in case you’re short on time :)
- why comfortable fullness can be challenging to nail and how to get better at arriving there more regularly :)
- some tools for amping internal body awareness to make sure you’re feeling deeply nourished without the overstuffed feeling (although admittedly sometimes it just happens to the best of us, same here…)
- ways for slowing down and tuning in and amping intimacy w oneself to help boost enjoyment and help prevent overeating
- the recipes i’m loving for feeling comfortably and delectably full and who even knows where the day goes from there yk??? ;)
mindset reset: too full to fuck
last year, i was at dinner with ian (bf), my friend, and her husband at one of my favorite stand-by meals in LA (AOC’s “the ode to the zuni” chicken – gorgeously greasy and perfectly browned/crisped dark meat, skin on chicken and similarly olive oil drenched caramelized roasted veggies). after devouring my chicken, something happened that planted a seed about - and excuse my language - the idea of being too full to f*ck (ty cazzie david).
bc as it turns out there’s some power in using the impending physical act, whether remotely probable or not even a little bit possible, as a helpful gauge for comfortable fullness after a meal. so many people struggle w how to know when they’re comfortably full or land on comfortable fullness for many reasons (time spent ignoring body cues from being not fully present in their bodies, eating a bit too quickly, restrictive tendencies in the past, dysregulation etc. etc. etc.). and lord knows i don’t always hit it perfectly either (one time after a diff fav chicken meal Dune ILYSM ian had to rub my belly in the least sexual way possible lol like a pregnant cat). anyways, today’s letter is about how to get a bit more intuitive w landing on comfortable fullness and the rest of my aoc din story which is relevant i swear…
